I painted these up at Lake O’Hara this summer. I thought they turned out not too bad considering the onslaught of mosquitos! I’ll be hanging these in my house just to remember the one time I was extremely lucky and got in first for the reservation rush ❤️!

Before our trip in July, I read The Lake O’Hara Art of J.E.H. Macdonald and Hikers Guide by Lisa Christensen. It’s the perfect companion if you love art and you’re visiting the area. It includes some short excerpts from MacDonald’s journal, which were fun to read and imagine what it would have been like back then.

A 20”x10” oil painting. I tried my hand at painting bigger this summer. I have some even bigger canvases ready in the wings and I know just what I want to do with them! I am particularly happy with the marmot and the trees in this one.
